Website Crash Explanation

On November 17, 2025, shortly after launching our password protected, email based voting system, we experienced an overwhelming surge of traffic to the mobile version of our website. This new system was put in place to eliminate spammers, scammers, bots, and fake accounts and to ensure that every contestant competed on a fair and level playing field.

The mobile site is a slimmed down version of our desktop platform and is not designed to handle the same volume of high traffic. As a result, the mobile version crashed. The desktop version remained fully functional at all times because it is built to manage significantly heavier traffic loads.

Even during the mobile outage, voting access was never lost. Supporters were still able to cast votes through three verified methods:

  1. The desktop version of the website

  2. Desktop View from a mobile device

  3. Email voting

Votes continued to be received, verified, and recorded during the entire period.

Restoration and System Improvements

It took approximately 24 hours to repair and restore the mobile voting page. While repairs were underway, our voting team continued to collect, verify, and record votes through all three available methods. When the mobile site was ready to be restored, our voting team froze all votes to ensure complete accuracy.

To prevent future overloads, we transitioned from the password protected system to individual shareable voting links for each contestant. These links distribute traffic evenly and significantly reduce the risk of any type of site crash. This system is also more user friendly while still protecting the contest from fraudulent activity.

No votes were lost at any point. Every legitimate vote submitted through the email system or password protected platform has been verified, time stamped, and will be included in the final combined totals.

Cause and Prevention

The sudden influx of voters to the mobile page created traffic levels typically seen only in massive, national contests. This incident was out of our control, and our team worked tirelessly to resolve the issue as quickly as possible.

Going forward, the use of individual shareable links provides consistent stability and prevents the trafic bottlenecks that can occur on centralized voting pages.

Commitment to Fairness and Integrity

Our mission is to protect the integrity, transparency, and accuracy of our nationwide contest. Every verified vote has been secured and will be counted toward the final results. We have also extended the voting period to November 30, 2025, to ensure that every contestant has a fair and adequate opportunity to receive votes within a consistent and timely window.

A Heartfelt Thank You

We want to extend a huge thank you to our contestants, fans, followers, and sponsors for remaining positive during this brief interruption. Your patience, encouragement, and support helped us move quickly and successfully through this challenge.

We also wish to thank our sponsors for their continued partnership and belief in the mission of Ladies In The Outdoors. Your support makes this contest possible, and we are grateful to have you as part of our Ladies In The Outdoors family.
