Just as “Tapwrit” was an absolute beautiful horse, “Tapwrit” - my buck was a majestic whitetail with super high brow tines and an almost symmetrical rack.  He evaded me all early season but come the rut in November he finally got on a pattern and gave me an opportunity to harvest him on November 20, 2017.  I put my classic double lung shot on him and he only went about 80 yards!

While I’ve taken several turkeys with a shotgun, this one stands out as my only bow harvest, and that makes it incredibly special.

Being able to align my profession with my life’s passion has been a blessing and awarded me some once in a lifetime opportunities alongside many fantastic colleagues and people.

We honor the life and legacy of Miss Julia Grace Ashworth, a beautiful, bold, and deeply loved young girl whose light continues to shine through everyone she touched.

I try to live life to the fullest, and having my boys by my side is a true blessing. Together, we hunt, fish, hike, and love to be in God’s country. I’m so thankful to have been raised with these traditions and enjoy passing them down to my kids. 

Outside the classroom, I’m an archery instructor for Shoot Like a Girl, sharing my love for the sport with others.

At the end of the day, I am not sure why I got sick. If I can help just one person understand this is not the end of life, it is a new beginning, then it was all worth it!!

The fish I caught in this picture is an 18.9 lb - 3.3 ft long Carp from an Oklahoma Lake at an indoor fishing pier.

I’ve been blessed to be able to hunt and harvest many beautiful animals, but last year, I experienced my favorite hunt of all!
